Shopping at Vaughan Mills – July 24

Students were able to check a lot of things off their shopping lists at Vaughan Mills Outlets, just north of Toronto! Many of the students were very organized and had lists of what they wanted to buy for their families and friends (and of course, themselves!). When it was time to leave, many students wanted even more time… although if we’d stayed any longer, we couldn’t have fit all our new purchases on the bus!

Blue Jays Game – July 22

Our Brazilian students enjoyed a new experience tonight… a Blue Jays Baseball game at the Rogers Centre! Although it was difficult to figure out the rules, students had a lot of fun watching the game, enjoying the exciting atmosphere, cheering, trying to get on the Jumbotron screen, and buying Blue Jays gear!

Movies – July 22

On Monday afternoon, students headed to the Carlton cinema to watch a movie. Students chose between Grown Ups 2 and Despicable Me 2 (better known among our students as Gru 2). Everyone really enjoyed the movies… even though they were sequels, they were both hilarious! And the students who chose to see Despicable Me 2 had the theatre all to themselves. All in all, a great way to spend a cool Monday afternoon!

Niagara Falls – July 21

On Saturday students woke up early in order to catch buses down to Niagara Falls. Everyone was impressed by the famous 53m high water falls, and enjoyed getting up close and personal with the falls (not to mention very wet) on the Maid of the Mist boat ride. Then students used their free time to explore the city of Niagara Falls, including tourist attractions (such as Haunted Houses, Wax Museums, the Aquarium, and more) and shops.

Canada’s Wonderland – July 20

Today our Brazilian groups travelled north of Toronto to Canada’s Wonderland Amusement Park. Many students tell us that this was the best part of their entire trip! At the park, students enjoyed a variety of rides, especially the newest, most thrilling and terrifying rides, Behemoth and Leviathan. Most of us weren’t ready to leave when it was time to go!

On Wednesday we went to the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), one of the largest museums in North America, and Canada’s largest museum of World Culture and Natural History. Besides its impressive and extensive collections of artifacts, the ROM is also famous for its recent architectural addition: the Michael-Lee Chin Crystal.

Temperatures continued to soar this week, making our outdoor activities rather sweaty! But it was totally worth it for the fun time we had on the Disco Boat Cruise Party! Everyone enjoyed great music, dancing, and an incredible view of the Toronto city skyline at sunset!
